Taylors of Harrogate Coffee
Downright decent coffee.
Specialty coffee for everyone.
What makes Taylors coffee different? Well, we've been in love with specialty grade coffee for a very long time - since long before it took over the world, in fact. Over the decades, we've built strong relationships with some of the best producers in the world. They let us buy their best beans, and we support them by investing in projects which help their communities and protect their environment.
Those sourcing relationships, and all those years of roasting and blending experience, mean that we never need to compromise on quality. And we can put all our efforts into creating products that cut through the confusing world of specialty coffee and deliver a simple promise: really good coffee, made easy.
It's all about people.
Forget those little beans - it's people that make the coffee trade tick. It's why we travel to visit our suppliers often, meeting face to face so we can build relationships and learn how to work in a way which helps growers' livelihoods and helps their business to grow. And we put the same importance on our own teams, training our coffee buyers to Q Grader level, the highest industry standard for arabica coffee tasting.
Trading with respect.
We aim to build a supply chain that supports producer communities all over the world. That means improving access to water, health-care and education, running programmes to empower women, helping coffee growing communities to weather the impact of climate change and the Covid pandemic, and actively working towards closing the living wage gap.
The art of roasting.
There’s no doubt in the mind of anyone drinking our coffee that roasting is an art form. Our roasters’ masterful use of a traditional drum roaster coaxes out delicious and unexpected flavours. (Blackcurrant and red apple? Really?)
To bring together coffees with contrasting but complementary characteristics is a blender’s challenge and delight. A successful creation is as remarkable and delicious as its constituent parts. Blending is itself a blend – of skill and sorcery.
