Tea and lemon are a timeless partnership. Lemon is a traditional addition to black tea in Britain and the world over, for those who don’t enjoy milk – and this refreshing, aromatic citrus also works wonderfully well with green tea.
For this blend, we source green tea from somewhere a little different. Rather than choosing leaves from China, the world’s biggest tea (and green tea) producer, we’ve found that green teas from Kenya and Rwanda pair particularly well with citrus.
We combine a larger leaf (known as “orthodox”) green tea from estates east of the Rift Valley in Kenya, and a smaller leaf (known as “cut tear curl”) green tea from Rwanda. Though smaller, it’s nonetheless a bespoke leaf grade tailored for us, which perfectly suits our tea bags.
The resulting blend is a delicate and mellow tea with no harshness or bitterness and a hint of crispness, all elevated by those lively lemon flavours.
