Yorkshire Tea
The UK's No.1 black tea.
Let’s have a proper brew.
In Britain, we drink approximately 100 million cups of tea every day, or almost 36 billion every year. And there’s a certain way that we’ve always liked it: a strong black tea blend, usually served with milk. That’s the traditional British cup of tea – often called “a brew” – and we're very proud to say that Yorkshire Tea is the UK's No.1.
And when we say “proper”, we mean that we do things properly. From the way our tea is grown to how it’s blended, tasted and packed, we don’t cut any corners or compromise on quality. That's how we know it's always a proper brew.

It tastes lovely.
How do you make sure a proper brew always delivers? Behind the scenes, we're utterly obsessive about quality - and when it comes to keeping this beloved blend at its best, we don't muck about.
We make our unique blend by combining the best teas from all over the world together, in just the right amounts, layering the complimentary flavours of multiple different teas to create a uniquely balanced and consistent brew. That's the art of blending, and we've been doing it for 130 years.
To make sure it's always perfect, our tea is checked, checked and checked again by some of the best taste buds in the business. Our tea buyers taste 100s of tea samples every day to find the very best for our blends; and from the harvest to the moment it heads to the shops, each batch of packed Yorkshire Tea has been tasted no fewer than eight times.
3 million trees.
We're proud to have been a leader in conservation for decades and in Kenya, we run a programme which recruits tea farmers to volunteer to plant trees. So far over 45,000 farmers have signed up and planted 3 million trees. It's the latest in many years of work to reduce our carbon emissions and benefit the livelihoods of people and communities in our supply chain and in 2021 we received a UN Global Climate Action Award for our efforts.
Yorkshire Gold.
This is our finest blend. We choose teas from our three favourite origins – Assam, Kenya and Rwanda – and buy them from the top ten tea gardens in the world to make a rich, smooth and incredibly satisfying brew. If you're looking for the quintessential British tea experience, Yorkshire Gold is the very peak of properness.
