How to brew
In Britain, we drink approximately 100 million cups of tea every day, or almost 36 billion every year.
And there’s a certain way that we’ve always liked it: a strong black tea blend, usually served with milk. We drink it at breakfast, at lunchtime, in the afternoon, often in the evenings and at breaktimes throughout the day. That’s the traditional British cup of tea – often called “a brew” – and Yorkshire Tea is the UK's #1.
Yorkshire Gold is our luxury blend. We make it by combining teas from the ten tea gardens which we consider the best in the world, combined in just the right amounts to create a rich, rounded and deeply satisfying brew. Some from Assam for strength and body, some from Kenya for brisk, lively character, and some from Rwanda for its beautiful golden glow. That’s the art of blending, and we’ve been doing it for 130 years.
Our loose leaf Yorkshire Gold is the same blend you know and love, but without the tea bag. It's ideally brewed in a teapot, to give the tea lots of room to move around and benefit from lots of surface contact with the water. And because it's loose leaf, tea drinkers can make it as strong (or as light) as they like.
To make sure it's always perfect, our tea is checked, checked and checked again by some of the best taste buds in the business. In fact, from the harvest to the moment it heads to the shops, Yorkshire Tea has been tasted no fewer than eight times. That's how we know it's always a proper brew.
